Make a real difference as a travel PTA in Spring Hill, FL working in an outpatient setting. You will assist patients recovering from injuries or illness under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, professional conduct, and delivering quality therapeutic interventions. New graduates are considered. A recruiter will follow up with details.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program.
• Active Florida PTA license required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience implementing treatment plans and interventions as directed by a Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening, balance and gait training, functional skills training, and modalities such as hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and therapeutic pool when applicable.
• Ability to document patient progress and provide patient and family education.
• Ability to follow safety, infection control, and facility policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous outpatient experience.
• Experience with adaptive equipment training and community re-entry training.
• Familiarity with safe patient handling techniques and use of therapeutic modalities such as iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, and paraffin bath.

• Schedule: 5x8
• Duration: 13 weeks with option to extend.

Impacting Patient Care

You will assist the Physical Therapist in implementing therapeutic interventions to meet patients’ long-term goals. Responsibilities include training patients in use of assistive devices, demonstrating proper guarding and safety techniques, documenting progress, participating in team conferences, and serving as a resource to other disciplines. Adherence to safety protocols and infection control is required. You will contribute to quality improvement projects as requested.
