Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Completed Clinical Fellowship Year and current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Active Georgia SLP license required to start the assignment.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 15–18 months of recent acute care SLP experience preferred by client; prior acute care experience desirable.
• Experience supporting a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses, including ICU, stroke/neurological, dysphagia, respiratory compromise, and cognitive disorders.
• MBS/FEES proficiency is a plus but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior acute care hospital experience supporting patients throughout the hospital.
• Proficiency in dysphagia evaluation and intervention, including instrumental assessments if available.

Assignment Details

• Schedule generally 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (varies).
• 5 shifts per week, 8-hour shifts.
• Must be willing to support acute care patients across hospital units, including ICU and medical/surgical floors.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide evidence-based SLP services in an acute care environment. Support physician-ordered evaluations and interventions for communication and swallowing disorders. Contribute to multidisciplinary care for medically complex patients and aid in improving functional outcomes and discharge planning.
