RN Med Surg/OB

Location: Chamberlain, South Dakota Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Day/Night Rotate, 12-hour shifts Unit: Med Surg/OB, 25 beds

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of RN experience
• 6 months of Med Surg experience in the past year
• 6 months of OB experience in the past year
• BLS certification, required before start
• ACLS certification, required before start
• NRP certification, required
• Must note in the submission whether the clinician has ever worked for the health system. If so, their end date there must be at least 6 months before the submission date.
• Able to function independently in the ER and in the Med Surg unit with up to 5 patients

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC certification

Other Listed Certifications

• PALS (listed without a stated requirement level)

Schedule and Assignment Details

• Hours: 12-hour shifts. The source lists both 36 and 48 hours per week.
• Every other weekend and holiday
• 3 call shifts required during the 13-week contract
• Floats between OB and Med Surg
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: typically 3–4 to 1, depending on census and acuity
• Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
