RN - NICU

Location: Wellington, Florida Employment Type: Temp Contract Length: 8 weeks Shift: 3x12 night shift (12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) experience of 2 years
• NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• NRP certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working with NICU Level 3 patients
• Experience working with NICU Level 4 patients
• Experience with ventilator management
• Experience with HFOV (High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation) ventilation

Role Details

• Neonates are primarily admitted from labor and delivery.
• Patient population ranges from 23 weeks gestation to 4 months.
• The NICU responds to neonatal emergencies, provides assessment and immediate care to newborns needing closer observation after delivery, and attends all C-sections and high-risk deliveries.
• Conditions treated include extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome.
• Services include noninvasive nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation (including High Frequency Oscillation), and nitric oxide inhalation therapy.
• Nurses assist with bedside procedures such as peripheral IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter insertions, parenteral therapy, blood and blood product administration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and parent teaching.
• Most diagnostic services are provided at the bedside.
