MRI Technologist (Traveler - Backfill)

• Location: Hillsborough, North Carolina
• Setting: Mobile MRI unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 10-hour days, 40 hours per week
• Equipment: Currently a Siemens AERA, moving to a Siemens Viato soon

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, including advanced studies
• Interview patients, explain MRI procedures, and address concerns with tact and courtesy
• Perform patient safety duties, including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection technique
• Communicate with customers and radiologists
• Train new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators in some instances, and check and qualify their work
• Troubleshoot the scanner, coils, and peripheral equipment (such as monitors and PACS) to prevent downtime, and escalate complex issues to Imaging Supervisor, Manager of Operations, hospital contacts, and corporate support teams as appropriate

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• CPR certification: BLS CPR certification through the American Heart Association only
• ARRT (R) certification
• Venipuncture certification
• State license as required
• Valid state driver's license, as applicable
• Experience with Siemens AERA and Siemens Viato equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience
• ARRT (MR) certification
• At least 1 year of MR experience in high-volume environments

Other Requirements

• Technical proficiency operating GE 1.5T or other designated vendor scanning equipment
• Proficiency running advanced MR studies independently
• Ability to work in a self-directed environment
• Experience managing customer interactions independently and resolving problems to mutual satisfaction
• Ability to explain complex medical terms and procedures to a non-medical audience
• Local travel may be required
