Home Health/Hospice RN

Location: Iron Mountain, Michigan Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week Date Entered: 11/10/2025

Required Qualifications

• Current BLS certification
• Recent home health experience (within 2 years)
• OASIS proficiency
• Wound care experience
• Excellent infection control practices in the home environment

Role Overview

• Patients include home health and hospice patients with CHF, diabetes, renal disease, wound care needs, IV therapy, and management of drains and other devices.
• No additional duties beyond patient care.
• The facility does not provide ventilator support for home health patients.
• A typical day includes about 6 visits: an admission plus 3-4 patients.
• Travel RNs are required to perform start of care (SOC) visits, recertifications, and resumptions.
• All nurses work home health and hospice. Primary hospice patients typically are not assigned to travel nurses, but travelers may need to see a hospice patient while on call. The facility will teach that protocol.
• Home health aides (CNAs) are employed by the facility.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 0800-1630, with 5 days per week worked.
• Rotating weekends and evening on-call. Weekends are typically every 4th or 5th weekend, with a day off before and after the rotating weekend.
• Up to two holidays per year.
• A nurse is on call each night and on weekends, and the travel nurse participates in this rotation. Usually no more than one night of call per week.
• Scheduling is handled by the office.
• Clock in and out at the facility.

Support

• An administrator, an RN coordinator, or an office support supervisor is available after hours as needed.

Dress Code

• Any solid color, clean and professional.
