Description

Pre-Op / PACU RN

Location: Logansport, Indiana Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 4 x 10-hour shifts (40 hours/week)

Role Overview

Duties: Admit patients to prep/recovery and PACU, and discharge patients.
Volume: 10-20 patients through prep/recovery daily.
Unit size: 16 prep/recovery beds, 4 PACU bays, and 5 ORs.
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1 and 1:2 PACU.
Dress code: Hospital scrubs.

Schedule

Hours: 6 AM to 5 PM, with a call rotation and staggered start times (6:00-4:30 and 6:30-5:00).
Call-off policy: May call off or cancel up to 24 hours for every 13-week assignment.
Floating: None.

Required Qualifications

Indiana RN license
ACLS (AHA or ARC)
BLS (AHA or ARC)
PALS
Minimum 2 years of experience in OR prep/recovery and PACU

Orientation

8 hours of non-billable orientation, with mandatory attendance for all 7 days of orientation.
Orientation in Fort Wayne, plus onsite education.
Clinicians returning within 12 months of their last worked date are not eligible for non-billable orientation.
