Pediatric ICU RN (PICU)
Assignment Overview
- Location: Austin, Texas
- Employment Type: LTA
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 06:45 - 19:15
Unit and Assignment
- Unit: PICU, a 24-bed high-acuity, fast-paced ICU in a central location at a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Case Mix: Neurology, renal, pulmonary, surgical, and medical ICU patients
- Second Location: 12-bed PICU
- Float Scope: Floats to all areas when needed, including CVICU
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs; pediatric print tops allowed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Critical Care Float experience of 2 years, with experience within the last year
- PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care) experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Valid driver's license
Optional Items
- Unit-specific checklist, to be uploaded by unit leader within one week
- Legal name change documentation, if applicable
- Optional software test-out with signed attestation
