Job Summary
This position involves floating to various pediatric units, including Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Medical-Surgical, Pediatric Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Pediatric Emergency Department (ED) boarders, and Postpartum/Mother-Baby units.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients across multiple pediatric units.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure effective patient management and care delivery.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, especially those concerning float assignments.
- Participate in clinical education and training as necessary.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in PICU is required.
- Experience in NICU is essential.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required.
- Pediatric PACU experience is highly preferred.
- Certification in Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding is required; however, candidates may apply with this certification pending.
- Epic electronic health record experience is required.
- Candidates with previous float pool experience in NICU/PICU will be considered.
- A Virginia nursing license is required; applications may be accepted with the license pending.
Schedule
This is a night shift position with a commitment to either 36 or 48 hours per week. The schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday. Please note that block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed. Time off may be approved for up to 40 hours, but requests will not be accepted during the first two weeks of the assignment.
Contract Duration
This position is for a duration of 13 weeks.
