Position Overview:

The Nurse Manager for Infusion Services will oversee chemotherapy and immunotherapy services, ensuring high standards of patient care, efficient staff management, and effective operational performance.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities

• Financial Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial performance of the department, including setting annual budgets and implementing cost-effective measures.
• Oversight of Clinical Operations:
  • Coordinate nursing service orientations and monitor staff skill development.
  • Assign patient care based on individual patient needs and staff qualifications.
  • Review staffing standards and recommend changes based on patient classification studies.
  • Develop and administer nursing services policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers for conducting patient care conferences.
  • Facilitate quality improvement activities to ensure compliance with care standards.
• Management and Leadership:
  • Assist in staff training and career development.
  • Update job descriptions and evaluate staff performance.
  • Manage staffing schedules and approve employee leave.
  • Effectively delegate assignments to staff members.
  • Identify departmental needs for personnel, equipment, and training.
• Compliance with Standards:
  • Implement regulatory standards and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Support of Leadership Strategies:
  • Assume the role of Acting Chief Nursing Officer in their absence and coordinate overall nursing activities.
  • Participate in leadership committee meetings and contribute to goal setting.
• Resource for Clinical Care Needs:
  • Provide support in patient care roles as required by department needs.
• Behavioral Standards:
  • Perform duties with professional judgment and remain calm in high-stress situations.
  • Address performance and quality of care issues promptly.
  • Provide constructive feedback to staff and recommend recognition for outstanding performance.

Position Qualifications

• Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
• Experience:
  • 5 years of professional nursing experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years as a staff RN in immunotherapy/chemotherapy.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience required.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • A valid, current, full and unrestricted RN license.
  • ACLS certification required; PALS and NRP preferred.

• Proficient in nursing procedures and basic nursing care.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships with patients and healthcare team members.
• Capability to manage departmental needs and plan accordingly.
• Critical thinking skills for sound nursing judgments.
• Skills in using computer systems, including proficiency in EHR.

Work Schedule

This position typically operates Monday through Friday during the day. Holiday coverage may be required.
