Summary

The competent Nurse, practicing in a clinical setting, operates independently while being fully aware of relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing routine and complex care, along with the ability to focus on long-term goals. Continuous development of coping strategies and management of clinical contingencies is essential. The Nurse will also make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers as necessary to manage clinical situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations as outlined in the relevant competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families in line with their practice level.
• Administers medications and treatments following appropriate protocols; monitors for side effects and the effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS certification is required (AHA only).
• ACLS certification is required (AHA only).
• NIH Stroke certification is required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of Texas or compact license is required.

Work Schedule

Full-time position with hours from 7PM to 7AM.
