Cath Lab Technologist

Job Description

The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for assisting in various procedural tasks within a cardiac catheterization laboratory. The role encompasses scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring procedures related to peripheral/vascular cases, as well as right and left heart catheterizations. The technologist may also scrub for device placements and participate in electrophysiology (EP) cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scrub and circulate during cath lab procedures.
  • Monitor and support peripheral and vascular cases.
  • Assist with right and left heart catheterizations.
  • Provide support during electrophysiology cases as needed.

  • XIM (division of Witt, Philips charting)
  • EPIC
  • Pyxis
  • Xcelera
  • Siemens and Philips fluoroscopy systems

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Cath Lab setting.
  • Must possess current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA accredited).
  • RCIS or RCES certification is preferred.

Work Schedule

This position features a 4-10 hour work schedule with varying shifts. Typical shift start times include 0530, 0630, or 0730. Will participate in a mandatory call schedule to fill vacant shifts.

Orientation and Training

Orientation will focus on monitoring processes in the XIM system along with developing proficiency in scrubbing and circulating within the Cath Lab environment.

Unit Specifications

The Cath Lab consists of 8 fluoroscopy rooms and 1 minimally invasive room without fluoroscopy. There will be no floating to other units or departments.

Scrubs

Ceil blue scrubs will be provided for this position.
