Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team on the Acute Care unit. This position is ideal for a compassionate nurse with strong clinical skills in a Medical-Surgical setting. The role operates on a night shift schedule, requiring flexibility and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Shift Details
- Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift Length: 12 hours
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Acute Care (MedSurg)
- Bed Capacity: 44 beds
- Staffing: 40 staff members
- Patient-to-Nurse Ratios: 1:5 (possibly 1:6)
- Weekend Requirements: Every Other Weekend
- Holiday Requirements: As needed
- Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients in the Acute Care unit, including:
- Conducting patient assessments and developing care plans.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitoring patient progress and modifying care plans as needed.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Documenting all nursing activities accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Floating to all acute care and cardiac units as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience with at least 1 travel assignment.
- Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably Meditech, is preferred but not mandatory.
Orientation and Training
- General Orientation: 1 week (includes EMR training).
- Floor-Specific Orientation: 2 days.
