We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Flex Pool. This position requires the ability to float between various medical and surgical units and will involve night shifts.

Job Description

As a Flex RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care across multiple specialized units. The role requires a versatile skill set to adapt to various patient needs and unit environments.

General Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established standards and practices.
• Float between different medical and surgical units as needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize Meditech EMR and Pyxis systems for patient management and medication administration.

Shift and Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts from 1845 to 0715.
• Scheduled for 36 hours per week following one week of orientation.
• No guarantee of hours.
• Holiday coverage required.

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech EMR
• Pyxis medication management system
• Wound vac equipment
• Chest tubes

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; up to 10 years is preferred.
• Required certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS (PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC are preferred)
• Active Hawaii nursing license is required by the start date of the assignment.

Floating Requirements

The RN may be required to float to the following units:

• Medical Unit
• Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute)
• Cardiovascular Unit (on rare occasions)

Patient Care Ratios

• Medical Unit: 1 nurse to 6 patients during days and evenings, 1 nurse to 8 patients at night.
• Laulima Unit: 1 nurse to 6 patients.
• Cardiovascular Unit: 1 nurse to 4 patients.

Dress Code

Professional nursing attire, including clean scrubs is required.

Orientation and Training

A comprehensive orientation program will be provided for each unit to ensure familiarity with protocols and practices.
