Position Overview

This role involves providing patient care in a 42-bed Med-Surg Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will work on a night schedule, committing to a 3x12-hour shift from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, including weekends and holidays as needed. The nurse may be required to float to patients with similar or lesser acuities based on census needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with various medical conditions including cardiac issues, diabetes, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), renal problems, general surgery, and orthopedic cases.
• Administer insulin, heparin, and Lasik drips as required.
• Collaborate with a diverse healthcare team that includes RNs, LPNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA/US), and unit secretaries.
• Maintain awareness of truncated compliance metrics and meet required standards.

Qualifications

• Current and valid ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• CPI certification is required.
• Proficiency in handling insulin, heparin, and Lasik drips is necessary.
• Previous experience in a Med-Surg or Telemetry unit is preferred.

Additional Information

Travelers are expected to account for their requested time off (RTO) when submitting for this position. Local candidates within a 50-mile radius will not be accepted for this role. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6, ensuring focused and effective patient care.
