Scheduling Details and Charting

• Shift Hours: 4x10s, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
• Contract Length: Up to 26 weeks available upon request
• Charting: Proficiency in Epic is required
• Weekend Requirement: See “On-Call” section
• On-Call Requirement: Each clinician is expected to take 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts within every 6-week period. One full weekend of call (Friday through Sunday) must be scheduled together. The remaining weekday call shifts (Monday through Thursday) can be taken individually throughout the cycle. One Saturday shift for elective cases is also required during each 6-week period. Clinicians must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when called.
• Requests: All requests for time off, block schedules, and special scheduling must be included with the submission.
• Call Off Policy: The facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work or take call one holiday per 13-week contract (in rotation with staff).
• First-Time Travelers: Not accepted.
• Local Candidates: Not accepted; refer to the Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria.
• Pending License: CCI RCIS - No license required. ARRT (R) - Virginia state license preferred. Any active state license (in hand or pending) is accepted. Virginia will grant emergency authorization to travelers with a license while their permanent VA license is processing.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• ARRT (R) or CCI RCIS

Required Clinical Skills

• Skilled in cardiac catheterization lab procedures including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temporary pacemaker, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip.
• Experience with sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols.
• Experienced in diagnostic/interventional cath lab settings utilizing fluoroscopy.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management.

Unit Details and Patient Population

• Serves adult patients in a cath lab with 6 procedure rooms and a daily census of 15-20.
• Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closures.
• Advanced procedures performed include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocols.
• Equipment used in the lab includes IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS.
