Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team for the night shift. This position will involve providing respiratory care across multiple departments, including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Department (ED), Medical/Surgical (MS) unit, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) when applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer advanced respiratory care and emergency interventions.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide optimal patient care in critical situations.
- Oversee the use of ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
- Conduct assessments and perform diagnostic tests related to patients’ respiratory conditions.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory therapies and self-care techniques.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) designation.
- Preferred certifications include Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), especially for NICU experience.
- Experience in a Level II trauma center is highly valued.
- Proficient in managing patients in high-acuity environments, specifically in ICU and ED settings.
Schedule
This position is for the night shift, requiring three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as block schedules are not available.
Team Environment
You will be part of a collaborative team of 7-10 respiratory therapists, depending on the census, providing high-quality care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
