Position Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will rotate between departments and cover various responsibilities within the specialty of Nuclear Medicine. This role involves supporting both General Nuclear Medicine and Cardiology services, contributing to the effective delivery of patient care across multiple facilities.

Work Schedule

• Hours at BBMP: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
• Hours at Main Campus: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Weekend Requirement: On-call only
• Holiday Requirement: On-call only
• Rotating Call: 7 days a week at the Main Campus

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures including bone scans, HIDA scans, GI bleed imaging, lymphoscintigraphy, parathyroid imaging, thyroid uptake studies, renal scans with Lasix, lung scans, MUGA scans, WBC infection imaging, and MPI stress tests.
• Coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care and procedural accuracy.
• Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines in radiation protection.
• Ensure proper use and care of nuclear medicine equipment and materials.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine.
• Required Certifications: BLS, NMTCB(N) or ARRT(N) certification.
• Preferred Certifications: ARRT(CT) certification.
• Education: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts preferred.
• State License: SCQRSA in Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, or Computed Tomography required.

Additional Information

• Traveling assignments may require rotation between multiple locations within the region.
• Radiation badges are required and must be provided by the agency; the facility does not supply these to travelers.
• All requests for time off (RTO) must be included at the time of submission and will be approved based on facility needs.
• The facility reserves the right to call off one shift every two weeks.

Work Environment

This position is located within a Level II Trauma, Acute Care environment. Employees are expected to be adaptable and may need to respond to emergency situations, especially during hurricane season from June to November.
