Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency care and will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Information

This position requires day shift availability with rotating weekends, typically from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and some shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and standards of care while adhering to State laws.
• Document care according to standards of practice.
• Perform assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluations of care.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and clinic policies, including patient and family education.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement initiatives, which may include shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
• Employ critical thinking to ensure patient safety and enhance the patient experience, escalating concerns appropriately.
• Engage in professional nursing activities, including unit practice decisions and peer review processes.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure in Wisconsin.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and either TNCC or TNS.
• Less than 1 year of experience in an emergency department preferred.

Holiday Coverage

Availability for holiday coverage is required.
