Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our dynamic operating room team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in circulating various surgical cases, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality patient care.

General Responsibilities

• Circulate surgical cases across various specialties.
• Assist with turnover cleaning between procedures.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Schedule surgical cases efficiently.

Required Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience circulating cases in a hospital setting.
• Ability to independently scrub cases is preferred.

Candidates should be capable of circulating the following types of procedures:

• General Surgery
• Orthopedic Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Ophthalmic Surgery
• Urology
• ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat)
• Endoscopy
• Robotic Surgery
• Obstetrics
• Gynecology

Equipment Utilized

• EPIC
• Pyxis
• Provation

Certifications and Licenses

• Current BLS certification.
• State of Hawaii RN license is required.

Schedule Requirements

Shifts may vary based on department needs. The operating hours are Monday through Friday from 0645 to 2315. Travelers will generally be scheduled for 40 hours per week, with a possibility of 32 hours if there is a holiday.

Call coverage is required, with assignments averaging 1-2 times per week, plus up to 2 weekends a month. All team members must be within a 30-minute radius of the hospital for call back.

Orientation and Shift Information

The successful candidate will complete orientation on the day shift for up to one week or at the manager's discretion. A minimum of 39 shifts must be completed during the contract term, conditional upon approved time off requests.

Unit Information

This operating room unit features six OR suites, with one dedicated to C-sections. Daily operations typically involve four to six rooms running simultaneously, making it a small yet very busy and efficient environment.
