Position Summary
The Physical Therapist I/II / Advanced Physical Therapist I/II is responsible for delivering high-quality physical therapy services, primarily to a Native American population, aimed at the treatment and prevention of physical disabilities or diseases. This role entails the management and implementation of the Physical Therapy program, including the evaluation and treatment of both inpatients and outpatients, ranging from infants to geriatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy evaluations and treatments, including specialty services such as wound care, prosthetic and orthotic clinic, geriatric clinic, high school clinic, functional clinic, spinal cord clinic, and assistive technology evaluations.
- Oversee the Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetic Orthotic Supply Program.
- Lead the development and direction of the physical therapy section, focusing on quality improvement, risk management, and safety measures.
- Ensure compliance with physical therapy policies and procedures, including preparation for Joint Commission evaluations.
- Conduct staff education, meetings, and in-service training.
- Fulfill additional duties as outlined in the Medical Staff Credentialing Core Privileges form.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from a Commission of Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited program.
- License: Valid, current, full, and unrestricted license in any state within the United States, District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico throughout employment.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification recognized by the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist, including outpatient experience.
- Credentialing: Must meet requirements for credentialing to serve on the Medical Staff; all necessary information for credentialing must be provided.
Shift Information
Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with holiday coverage required.
