We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our team in providing exceptional respiratory care to patients. This position involves a commitment to delivering high-quality clinical services while supporting a positive work environment.

Position Purpose

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering appropriate respiratory care based on physician orders and patient assessments. This role is designed to prepare the practitioner for advancement to critical care settings and Emergency Rooms.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care based on physician orders and patient clinical conditions.
• Provide routine services to non-critical patients and assist advanced practitioners in managing patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
• Perform pulmonary evaluations and document patient assessments and therapy accurately.
• Demonstrate proper use and knowledge of respiratory care equipment and supplies.
• Attend interdisciplinary conferences and engage in team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Arizona, in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications through the American Heart Association.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory care, with competencies in both adult and pediatric care.
• Experience in educating patients with chronic lung conditions is preferred.

Preferences

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Shift Information

This position requires working three shifts per week, including some weekends. The respiratory therapist will collaborate with a team of 3-4 additional therapists.

Work Requirements

The role involves physical activities, including moving and transporting patients via wheelchair or gurney. Therapists will spend a significant portion of their time standing, bending, and reaching while providing patient care.

Training/Orientation

Successful candidates will participate in an orientation program covering general and critical care aspects of respiratory therapy, ensuring knowledge and competency in specialized areas.
