Description
We are seeking a full-time Echo Sonographer to support our Cardiology Team. This position involves delivering direct and indirect patient care in a hospital and office setting under the supervision of Practice Providers, the Cardiology Director, Lead Echo Tech, and the Practice Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide care in accordance with organizational protocols and procedures, demonstrating clinical competence in all echocardiography modalities to deliver accurate diagnostic information.
- Educate patients and caregivers, advocating for their needs while ensuring individualized care that supports protection from harm.
- Maintain knowledge and competency in echocardiography as set forth by ARDMS and/or CCI credentialing organizations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, whether in person, by phone, or through practice-supported messaging systems.
- Demonstrate competence in equipment performance, patient monitoring, archiving studies, and managing supplies.
- Organize exam rooms, set up for procedures, and maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the office environment.
- Effectively multi-task while remaining calm and personable in a fast-paced practice setting to uphold patient care flow.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, clinical staff, and support personnel regarding practice and patient needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Candidates must be proficient in all imaging modalities of adult echocardiography, including Transthoracic Echo, Stress Echo, and Transesophageal Echo (TEE). Registration as a Cardiac Sonographer through ARDMS or CCI (R.D.C.S. or R.C.S.) is preferred, with the requirement to obtain registration within one year of employment. Competency in BLS (Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider) must be maintained, with a current certification needed within the preliminary employment period.
