Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to join our team. This position involves providing high-quality respiratory care to critically ill infants in a level 4 NICU setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory support and therapies for infants in the NICU.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement health care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respiratory patterns.
- Conduct assessments and manage ventilators for patients requiring advanced respiratory care.
- Participate in educational activities and training programs for staff and families.
Schedule
This position offers flexible scheduling options of either 36 or 48 hours per week. The schedule will require working every other weekend and holiday, with a commitment to work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays. The unit operates under a self-scheduling model that managers will explain during the interview call, and while preferences will be considered, there is no guarantee of a specific schedule.
Qualifications
- Must have level 4 NICU experience.
- Cardiac PICU experience is preferred.
- Current RRT certification, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification are required.
- ACCS certification is preferred.
- Applicants with a pending Virginia license will be considered, provided they can obtain a temporary license before the start date; an active license from another state is required to be eligible for a temporary license.
