Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist specializing in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) to join our dedicated team. This role requires expertise in managing patients in a high-acuity setting, with a focus on delivering exemplary respiratory care to our littlest patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to neonates and infants in the NICU.
• Participate in a self-scheduling model with the team, accommodating preferences as best as possible.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to design and implement patient care plans.
• Educate and support families regarding infant respiratory care needs.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.

Work Schedule

This position offers opportunities for both 36 or 48 hours per week, with shifts scheduled as Day 4x12 (07:00 - 19:00). The position requires commitment to work every other weekend and every other holiday, including 2 out of 3 winter holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 4 NICU experience.
• Cardiac PICU experience is preferred.
• Current RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications are mandatory.
• ACCS (Advanced Clinical Care Specialist) certification preferred.
• MUST have a Virginia license pending; a temporary license is acceptable if obtained before the start date.
• Must also possess another state license to be eligible for a temporary license.
