Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist to join our team within a pediatric setting. This role will involve working in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and offers opportunities for professional growth in a supportive environment. The position includes participation in self-scheduling with a commitment to fulfill various staffing needs.

Contract Details

• Contract length options available: 13 weeks or 26 weeks
• Day shifts, 4x12-hour format (07:00 - 19:00)
• Ability to work either 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend and holiday commitment required
• Mandatory work requirement for 2 out of the 3 winter holidays

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and treatment to NICU patients
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement patient care plans
• Monitor and assess patients for response to treatments
• Educate patients and families regarding respiratory care

Qualifications

• Must possess Level 4 NICU experience
• Cardiac PICU experience is preferred
• Required certifications: RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist), BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• ACCS (Advanced Critical Care Specialist) certification is preferred
• Virginia state license must be pending; temporary licensure must be obtainable prior to start
• Must have an additional state license for eligibility to obtain a temporary license

Scheduling Model

The unit operates under a self-scheduling model, where the manager will explain in detail during the interview process. While we will strive to accommodate preferred schedules, we cannot guarantee that all requests will be met.
