Description

Respiratory Therapist (RRT-NICU)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience to join our team. This position involves working in a specialized respiratory unit within a children's hospital. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to neonatal patients, including those in critical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver respiratory care to patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, adjusting interventions as necessary.
  • Participate in self-scheduling to accommodate shift preferences where possible.
  • Work nights, committing to either 36 or 48 hours per week, including every other weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Maintain proper certifications and renew as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Current RRT certification and valid licenses (VA license pending acceptable with a temporary license prior to start; valid license from another state required).
  • Level 4 NICU experience is mandatory.
  • Cardiac PICU experience is preferred.
  • ACCS certification is advantageous.
  • BLS and NRP certifications are required.

Work Schedule

  • Flexible scheduling model, with hours primarily during night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00 - 07:00).
  • Every other weekend and holiday shifts are mandatory, including two out of three winter holidays.
