Job Summary

The Pediatric Physical Therapist (PT) will assist patients in achieving their maximum physical performance while accommodating for disabilities. This role involves interpreting physical therapy evaluations and test results, creating individualized treatment goals and plans, and providing hands-on manual exercises.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer manual exercises and instruct patients in performing physical activities.
• Guide patients in the use of assistive and supportive devices.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly for optimal benefit.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and establish personalized care plans.
• Document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation clearly and effectively.
• Communicate evaluation results, treatment goals, and plans with patients and their families.
• Provide in-service education programs for nursing personnel as required.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) in compliance with organizational policies and state regulations.
• Participate in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program is required.
• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree is required for licensure obtained in 2016 or later; a bachelor's or master's degree is acceptable for those licensed prior to 2016.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Patient Care Requirements

This position requires direct patient care and interaction, ensuring a high standard of quality and compassion in treatment delivery.

Unit Description

The Pediatric Physical Therapist will work with patients from birth to young adulthood in a 1:1 treatment model.
