Job Overview
The MRI Technologist position involves performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures to assist in patient diagnoses and treatment. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of MRI techniques and procedures, with an emphasis on patient safety and comfort.
Job Details
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, with potential availability until the end of February.
- Shift: 3x12 hours from 18:30 to 07:00 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
- Call Requirement: None.
- Float Requirement: Work on Thursday and Friday at Orthopedic Unit, and on Saturday at the main hospital.
Responsibilities
- Conduct MRI scans of patients with a focus on abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, musculoskeletal, diffusion (non-brain), and gradient echo imaging.
- Utilize advanced imaging techniques including MIP, MRP, peripheral magnetic resonance, spin echo images, and surface coils.
- Ensure proper use of T1 and T2 imaging, as well as CINE sequences.
- Provide care for a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with a preference for familiarity with neonates, infants, and pediatrics.
- Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted.
- Certifications: BLS and ARRT certification are mandatory.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with chest imaging and image post-processing is advantageous.
Orientation
Unit orientation will take place from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Attendance at daily classes during the first week is mandatory, and participants must be fully available to accommodate any scheduling changes.
Additional Information
- Participants are expected to be part of the Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events.
- Consolidation to a Centralized Office midway through the contract may occur, with preassigned units as needed.
Scrubs
Scrubs are to be royal blue in color.
