Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Medical Surgical and Surgical Oncology to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Medical Surgical
- Bed Size: 47 beds
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 5:1 on day shifts and 6:1 on night shifts
Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical surgical and surgical oncology patients.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and other inter-professional colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Demonstrate competency in nursing practice and adhere to established standards for specific patient populations.
- Utilize an array of equipment and technology, including EMR-Epic, AccuDose, bladder scanners, Phillips monitors, and telemetry systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a medical surgical setting within a larger hospital (200 beds minimum) or a level 2 or higher trauma center.
- Prior experience with surgical oncology patients preferred, but not required.
- Current BLS certification from AHA.
- Active RN license in North Dakota or a compact state.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is required.
Shift Information
- 12-hour day shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday required
Training and Orientation
- 1-day lead center training
- 2 shifts (12 hours each) on the unit with a preceptor
Floating Requirements
Home unit is established, but there may be opportunities to float to other medical surgical units as needed.
Scrubs
Navy blue scrubs are required for this position.
