Job Description

We are seeking experienced nurses to join our medical unit team. Candidates must have education verification, a current Wisconsin nursing license, CPR/BLS certification, and NIHSS certification.

This position may require floating to other units, alongside a commitment to work every other weekend and holiday. Shifts will be 12 hours long, from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in providing patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice acts.
• Document patient care in accordance with established standards.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by a physician and hospital policy, including instruction for patients and families.
• Participate in departmental or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
• Utilize clinical expertise to provide guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient's longitudinal care plan.
• Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command as necessary.

Qualifications

• Experience: Less than 1 year preferred.
• Certifications: BLS/BCLS required.
