Position Overview

This position involves providing nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a general medical surgical unit. The role requires flexibility, as floating to other units or facilities may be necessary based on patient census and needs.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours; 0700-1930
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend, subject to change based on facility needs

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, including but not limited to:

• Administering medications through the Omnicell system
• Documenting patient care and interactions using the EPIC system
• Monitoring and managing patient conditions, particularly respiratory, infectious, neurological, and dementia-related issues
• Collaborating with team members and the charge nurse to ensure efficient unit operations
• Participating in special procedures as required, with competencies in medical-surgical and telemetry environments

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in the field
• Required Certifications:
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NIHSS
  • South Carolina RN License
• Experience with the EPIC documentation system (1 year required)
• Must possess competency in managing EKGs and pass an EKG exam

The primary focus will be on adults and geriatric patients with a wide range of medical conditions, emphasizing a team-oriented environment to promote patient-centered care.
