Job Description

This assignment requires a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist with extensive experience in orthopedic, neurological, vascular, and other surgical areas. Candidates who do not possess a broad range of current experience will not be considered.

Shifts and Hours

The Surgical Technologist will work 40 hours per week, with options for either four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts. Actual weekly hours and shift times will be determined during the phone interview. The position includes approximately one call weekend every five weeks and 1-2 calls per week, in accordance with staffing and department needs. All call duties will require a response time of 30 minutes from the moment of the call. Additionally, holiday call rotations may be required based on patient census and staffing availability.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred but not required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in surgical technology
• Excellent critical thinking skills and strong knowledge of central processing and instrumentation
• Minimal requests for time off (RTO) will receive priority consideration

Shifts and call requirements may be subject to change based on the current staffing and patient census. Candidates should be prepared for some variability in call rotation and holiday coverage as necessary.
