Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse with expertise in Endoscopy to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Endoscopy lab.
Shift Schedule
- 2 shifts of 10 hours (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- 2 shifts of 8 hours (6:30 AM - 3:00 PM)
- Total of 36 hours per week
Patient Population
The position involves caring for a diverse patient population, ranging from adults to geriatrics.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ERCP, including ERCP with Spy Glass.
- Knowledge of Bronchoscopy, EBUS procedures, Colonoscopy, and Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD).
- Familiarity with the ION procedure.
Work Environment
The unit consists of 3 procedure rooms and 11 beds, with an average daily census of 20 patients. The staff-to-patient ratio is 1:2.
Technology Utilized
- Pyxis for medication management
- Epic for electronic health records
Dress Code
Scrub color is navy blue.
Time Off and Availability
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) per contract.
- Blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th - 12th).
- Weekend work is required for 2-3 weekends per contract.
On-Call Requirements
- 1 weekday on-call shift per week.
- 1 weekend on-call shift per 6-week schedule.
Holiday Expectations
Traveling staff are expected to work on major holidays that fall within their assignment period:
- New Year’s Eve and Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving/Black Friday
- Christmas Eve and Day
Compliance and Clinical Screening
Full compliance with requirements is necessary to begin employment on time. Candidates will undergo a clinical screening to assess fit for the role. After clinical approval, candidates will be forwarded to the hiring manager for final decision-making.
Additional Information
Local candidates are welcome to apply and will receive the same rate as travelers. Non-billable orientation hours vary based on contract length.
