Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will execute a broad array of routine and advanced imaging procedures, provide support to fellow imaging technologists, and facilitate seamless patient flow. This role requires flexibility to work different shifts and at various locations as needed. The technologist will troubleshoot basic maintenance, partake in quality assurance, and address issues related to image processing and archiving. Participation in ongoing education and adherence to safety and technical advancements within the scope of licensure is expected. Radiologic safety protocols must be maintained while handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals. Daily logs and periodic tests will be completed as required. Effective communication and behavior must align with the organization’s mission, values, and culture.
Responsibilities:

- Encourage staff growth, development, and engagement through collaboration with management, coworkers, and physicians to create a positive work environment.
- Enhance physician satisfaction by providing valuable assistance to radiologists and referring physicians.
- Conduct all duties maintaining patient confidentiality and only disclose information as necessary for job responsibilities.
- Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care mandated by state and federal agencies, as well as the organization and regulatory entities.
- Perform necessary examinations and procedures to assist in patient throughput within the scope of licensure and competencies.
- Exhibit flexibility by working additional shifts or at alternate locations as required.
- Ensure accurate scanning and storage of completed exams in the PACS system.
- Follow PACS downtime procedures as a superuser and escalate any issues to designated personnel.
- Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions to management or biomedical staff, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted equivalent required.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred.
- Basic computer experience required.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) certification by ARRT or NMTCB required.
- State Licensure required: MRT by TMB.
- BLS certification required (AHA only).
