Position Description:

This is a night shift traveler position created to backfill for a full-time staff member who is leaving the role due to health reasons. The demand for respiratory therapists is high within the department, with multiple openings available.

Position Information:

• Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Shift: 7 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted)
• Call Requirements: 2 hours for the oncoming shift
• Years of Experience: 3+
• Float Requirements: Includes some NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and adult acute and critical care.

Education & Certifications Required:

• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• NRP certification required for NICU
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: Varied depending on daily assignments; covers the entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs.
• Patient Ratios: Acute care 1:25, Critical care 1:8.
• Equipment: Various ventilators including Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, Vapotherm.
• EMR: EPIC

Hiring Profile:

• Must Have Skills/Experience: Experience in a tertiary, teaching hospital; familiarity with level 1 trauma situations.
• Preferred Skillset/Experience: NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience.
• Type of Patients on Unit: Varied patient populations.
• Personality Fit: Must be flexible, a team player, and possess excellent communication skills.
