Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care. This role requires flexibility, as the nurse will be responsible for floating between medical-surgical and telemetry units as assigned.

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, available in two rotations: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
• Only one holiday requested time off will be accepted.

Clinical Responsibilities

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for the following:

• Providing comprehensive patient care in accordance with established protocols.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitoring patient progress and responding to changes in condition.
• Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation of patient care.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Patient Ratios

The nurse will work with the following patient-to-nurse ratios:

• Medical Surgical: 5:1 during the day shift (7 AM - 11 PM) and 6:1 during the night shift (11 PM - 7 AM).
• Telemetry: 4:1 during the day shift (7 AM - 11 PM) and 5:1 during the night shift (11 PM - 7 AM).

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a medical-surgical or telemetry environment.
• Current nursing licensure in the state of practice.
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and effective patient care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Miscellaneous

This position includes a self-scheduling component; however, scheduling will be balanced to accommodate departmental needs. Flexibility in meeting scheduling requests is appreciated.
