Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a challenging and rewarding opportunity. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment, serving a diverse patient population across all age ranges.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the emergency department.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient outcomes.
• Manage complex cases, adapting to a variety of patient diagnoses and conditions.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Meet operational and procedural requirements for the emergency department.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting; candidates with 1 year of experience will be considered.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certifications are required.
• Strong clinical skills and experience in emergency medicine, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Information

This position requires the nurse to work 3x12 hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30) with options for 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are mandatory as scheduled.

Patient Population

The emergency department serves a daily census of approximately 130 patients with a total of 47 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, covering a wide range of diagnoses in a dynamic setting.

Additional Requirements

• Floating between specialties may be required.
• No pre-scheduled on-call duties are mandated.
