Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality respiratory care to patients across various departments.

Position Details

• Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Shift: 7 AM - 7:30 PM and 7 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: Yes, 2-hour response time for the oncoming shift

Responsibilities

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for:

• Providing respiratory therapy services to patients in various settings, including NICU, PICU, acute care pediatrics, emergency department (ED), and critical care.
• Utilizing advanced respiratory equipment, including Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm.
• Conducting evaluations and assessments of patients’ respiratory conditions.
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Participating in clinical calls as required by department needs.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a tertiary teaching hospital environment, with exposure to level 1 trauma care.
• Required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist).
• Preferred Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
• Education: Relevant education modules consistent with RRT practices.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: Varied based on daily assignments, covering the entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs.
• Patient Ratios: Acute care 1:25, Critical care 1:8.
• EMR: EPIC.

Please note that while reasonable scheduling preferences may be considered, only approved requested time off (RTO) documented in the contract is guaranteed. The facility may not accommodate additional schedule requests, specific shifts, or time off beyond the approved contractual RTO.
