Description
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Stepdown care. The nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a stepdown unit, focusing on adult and geriatric populations.
Shift Details
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate total nursing care for patients.
- Participate in patient and family education.
- Provide leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing and other member personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.
- Float to areas as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg experience.
- Experience with cardiac drips is required.
- Experience in dementia management is required.
- NIHSS certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records is required.
- Candidate must possess their own vehicle as this is a small community without public transport.
- All required medical and occupational health compliance items must be completed within 5 days of acceptance.
Certifications Required
- NIHSS Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Additional Information
Traveling nurses are expected to work two holiday blocks during the following times:
- Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following
- Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the weekend after
- New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the weekend after
Note: Requests for time off during the assignment must be specified during the first application submission. Requests after the initial submission will not be accommodated.
Travelers should expect non-billable orientation time as part of their preparation before starting.
