Position Overview

This role requires a skilled Registered Nurse to work in a flexible capacity, floating between various medical and surgical units as needed. Applicants must be prepared to cover holiday shifts and engage in a comprehensive orientation program tailored to specific unit needs.

Shift Information

• 12-hour shifts - Days (0645 to 1915)
• Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
• No guarantee of hours

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Active State of Hawaii nursing license required by the start of the assignment
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (Preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC)

Job Duties

The Registered Nurse will have the following responsibilities:

• Float between various medical and surgical units, including but not limited to the Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and Cardiovascular Unit (on rare occasions)
• Provide care in high-acuity settings while adhering to established protocols and professional standards
• Utilize Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and manage chest tubes as part of patient care

Nurse to Patient Ratios

The nurse-to-patient ratios are as follows:

• Medical Unit: 1:6 for days and evenings, 1:8 for nights
• Laulima Unit: 1:6
• Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4

Dress Code

Professional nursing attire is required, including clean scrubs.

Additional Information

Orientation time will be provided for each unit, ensuring that the Registered Nurse is well-prepared to meet the needs of various departments.
