Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse is a clinical practitioner who coordinates and implements patient care, ensuring that quality and safety standards are met in alignment with organizational goals. The RN demonstrates effective clinical practice and possesses a solid understanding of patient rights while delivering care. This role requires effective communication with patients, families, and staff members, treating all with respect and consideration.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Conduct initial assessments and establish care priorities based on patient needs, age, and psychosocial considerations.
- Perform systematic re-assessments to monitor patient progress and trends that may require intervention.
- Develop and implement measurable, individualized care plans in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care.
- Make informed nursing decisions based on patient evaluations and modify care plans as necessary.
- Engage in health education and discharge planning with patients and their significant others.
- Execute and document timely interventions tailored to patient requirements.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make adjustments as needed.
- Conduct various Point of Care testing procedures.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse license in New Mexico or current Compact state license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Experience: Newly hired nurses with two or fewer years of experience as a Registered Nurse will be appointed at a CN I status. Consideration for higher clinical ladder levels may be given based on relevant experience, nursing certifications, and additional education.
- Knowledge: Must possess current knowledge and skills pertinent to the patient population served and demonstrate effective communication appropriate to the developmental age of the patient.
Work Schedule:
This position requires four 10-hour shifts, including weekend shifts and rotation within surgical services.
Dress Code:
Graphite Gray Scrubs.
