Job Summary

The Ultrasound Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The role requires handling the movement, setup, and operation of medical ultrasound equipment. The technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and locations as required. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting basic maintenance, participating in quality assurance, and resolving issues related to image processing and archiving systems. Ongoing education, safety compliance, and adherence to established imaging competencies are critical in this position.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Perform examinations and procedures as needed to assist in patient throughput.
• Scan and store completed exams correctly in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education and Skills

• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or an equivalent program.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of ultrasound scanning experience preferred.
• Basic computer experience required.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• State Licensure is required if practicing in New Mexico.
• BLS certification via American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Must acquire one of the following within 1 year of hire:
  • Sonography (S) by ARRT
  • Abdomen (AB) RDMS by ARDMS
  • Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) RDMS by ARDMS
• Preferred additional certifications may include:
  • Vascular Sonography (VS) by ARRT
  • Breast Sonography (BS) by ARRT
  • Breast (BR) RDMS by ARDMS
  • Adult Echocardiography (AE) RDCS by ARDMS
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with multiple shifts available.
