Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU). This position involves providing high-quality care to critically ill patients, managing complex internal illnesses, and utilizing advanced medical therapies.

Position Details

• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend and holidays as needed
• On Call Requirements: None

Unit Description

The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is a specialized subunit of the ICU focusing on internal medicine and non-surgical diseases. The unit treats patients with severe infections, acute respiratory failure, diabetic emergencies, poisonings, or severe organ dysfunction. The primary objective is to manage complex internal illnesses through ventilators, continuous drug infusions, and aggressive medical therapy.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to critically ill patients in the MICU
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy
• Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families about their health conditions and treatment plans

Qualifications

• 3+ years of current MICU experience (required)
• Current ventilator experience (required)
• EPIC EMR experience (highly preferred)
• Previous travel nurse experience (preferred)
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire or compact state (required)
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required)

Additional Requirements

Travelers must have their own vehicle and are required to work two holiday blocks: Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year period. All time-off requests must be submitted upfront for approval.
