Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide care in a mixed acuity environment specializing in cardiac and telemetry patients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and be committed to delivering high-quality nursing services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for cardiac medical and surgical patients, including post-procedure care for cases such as stent placements, pacemaker insertions, and cardiac surgeries.
• Manage treatment for conditions such as chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmias, and syncope.
• Titrate and administer ordered medications and drips, including Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Bumex, and Dobutamine.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
• Utilize telemetry monitoring systems to assess and respond to patient needs effectively.
• Educate and support patients and their families regarding care plans and medical conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in a busy hospital environment.
• Proficiency in managing post-procedural cath lab patients.
• Experience in using TR band compression devices and managing patients with chest pain.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA).

Unit Information

The unit consists of 29 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 during the day and 1:5-6 at night. A dedicated telemetry team monitors all non-critical patients 24/7, allowing nursing staff to focus on direct patient care.

Shift Details

This position requires working night shifts from 1900 to 0730, including every other weekend and holiday. Block scheduling is generally available based on unit needs.

Additional Information

• Points of care will include gluteal and inhalation therapies, with Respiratory Therapists available on-site to assist as needed.
• Nurse aides are available for assistance with patient care, offering a supportive environment for nursing staff.
• A thorough onboarding process is included, with one shift dedicated to HR orientation and another for unit-specific training.
