Job Description:

Rehabilitation Services within the inpatient setting are provided by skilled professionals dedicated to delivering quality care for patients who are acutely ill, across all age groups and multiple body systems. Utilizing clinical reasoning, RNs evaluate patients with unstable medical conditions, assess for surgical interventions, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and customize treatment through evidence-based approaches. Our evaluations are vital for developing optimization plans of care, including discharge considerations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Clinical Expertise: Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on comprehensive physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments that align with the patient and significant others' evolving needs and goals, following the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and the “Caring-Quality Model.”
• Knowledge: Commit to lifelong learning through certifications, advanced practice, higher education, and ongoing literature review.
• Leadership/Credibility: Demonstrate leadership by sharing knowledge, acting as a clinical resource, and serving as a professional role model.
• Communication: Foster effective communication via collegial relationships, SBAR communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Productivity: Exhibit strong time management skills and provide assistance to colleagues to enhance the overall team performance.
• Perform other duties consistent with the job's purpose as directed by general and unit-specific competency-based objectives.

Attendance Policy: A strict attendance policy requiring adherence to scheduled shifts is in place to advocate for patient care. Any RN who is absent or late beyond stipulated limits on three occasions will face termination. Exceptions due to communicable diseases or hospitalization will be considered with supporting documentation.

Certification Requirements: BLS (AHA)

State License Requirements: Active Michigan license required at the time of application.
