Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient recovery following surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Level 1 trauma center and telemetry.

Requirements

• Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, New Year's Eve & New Year's Day.
• Pre/Post Cath lab and Pre/Post IR procedures experience.
• COVID vaccine status is optional; however, reporting is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PACU setting with Level 1 trauma and telemetry experience.
• Certifications required: BCLS, ACLS, PALS.

Schedule

• Shifts are 4x12 hours, from 09:00 AM to 09:30 PM.
• One weekend shift required per month.
• On-call duty required, with 1-2 overnight shifts per month.

Patient Care

The RN will manage a patient ratio of 1:2 in PACU. The candidate may be required to float to the Holding area within the PACU department, where the nurse-to-patient ratio can be 1:3-5, comparable to an inpatient PCU assignment.

Additional Information

• 36 guaranteed hours per week; facility may call off staff 3 times over a 13-week assignment.
• No locals accepted within a 100-mile radius.
• Pending licenses are accepted.
• RTO exceeding 7 days requires approval.
• Special requirements include a solid understanding of trauma and telemetry protocols.

Contract Information

New contracts and extensions must last at least 10 weeks. A mandatory 6-month break is required for any travelers completing 4 consecutive assignments or reaching a one-year employment milestone.
