Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to assist in the treatment of patients. This role requires a strong understanding of physical therapy practices and the ability to provide exceptional patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans.
• Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises and activities.
• Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
• Maintain a clean and organized therapeutic environment.
• Educate patients and their families about physical therapy processes and exercises.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
• Adhere to safety and infection control guidelines.

Qualifications

• Associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Current Physical Therapy Assistant license to practice in Texas.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an outpatient or acute care setting.

Work Environment

This position will involve working with a variety of patient populations, including inpatients and outpatients, in a critical access hospital setting. The role may require flexibility in scheduling to meet departmental needs, including weekends and holidays.

Dress code includes scrubs, with no specific color requirement.
