We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting surgical procedures as a vital member of the operating room (OR) team, specifically in the scrub position during surgical interventions.

Shift Details

• Days/Evenings
• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• 40 hours per week

Position Summary

The Surgical Technologist will maintain a safe environment in the OR by implementing technical and aseptic practices according to established standards and policies. Responsibilities include preparing and assisting with surgical procedures while ensuring the maintenance of a sterile field.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrate proficiency in surgical procedures across various services.
• Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining sterile fields.
• Properly use instruments, suture, and stapling devices.
• Adhere to safety techniques when using equipment.
• Follow procedures for obtaining, returning, cleaning, and disposing of equipment.
• Prepare surgical setups according to surgeon preference cards and specific procedures.
• Report and identify faulty equipment and unsafe conditions.
• Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts at designated times.
• Handle and properly identify specimens according to departmental policies.
• Demonstrate readiness to manage emergency situations effectively.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current Surgical Technologist license from the state of Washington.
• National Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists.
