Job Description

A Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) will play a vital role as a member of the surgical team, primarily functioning in a scrubbing capacity. The CST may also assist with circulating duties within the surgical suite. This position requires maintaining a sterile environment and aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures.

Shift and Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
• Weekend and holiday availability required as needed
• On-call responsibilities are part of the role

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the operating room and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Utilize and maintain specialized surgical equipment and supplies.
• Foster effective communication and teamwork within the surgical team.
• Adapt quickly to stressful situations and ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required.
• High proficiency in orthopedics, total joints, and neurosurgery is essential.
• Experience in scrubbing for general, orthopedic, neuro, and endocrine surgeries.
• Must possess a valid American Heart Association BLS certification.
• The candidate must have reliable transportation for the assignment.

All scheduling requests, including time off, must be documented at the time of submission, as requests after submission may not be accommodated. This role also necessitates the ability to work during critical holiday periods.
